Prof. Mohammed K. Farouk is the current Secretary of the ISOM Board of Directors. He was the founding Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Kashere in Nigeria. He was a professor at Florida International University from 1991-2014. He obtained his doctorate in Education from West Virginia University in 1990 and his Masters and Bachelors.
degrees in Education from Bayero University Kano, Nigeria in 1986 and 1984 respectively. A native of Nigeria, he has been active in the Muslim community in Southwest Miami-Dade since 1991. He is a Founding Member of ISOM. He has earlier served as the Chairperson of the ISOM BoD from 2009-2012 and Secretary from 1995-2009. He was also the Director of Curriculum, Vice-Principal, and Principal of the ISOM Sunday School. He is happily married to his wife Jamila and has a son, Farouk (Shihab), an alumnus of the ISOM Sunday School and a current student in the Maktab program.
